Purdue Boilermakers football needs something, anything to spark this team from obscurity in 2015. So, it appears Darrell Hazell’s bunch is going to continue to try to spice things up on the helmet front.
Unlike past seasons when matte-black helmets with railroad track stripes or neon yellow decals have been used, this time around the Boilermakers are going to go white with the Purdue alternate logo on the helmets.
At least that is what was unveiled by the official Twitter account and worn by a select group of players during Saturday’s spring game.

Here is a look at the mini-helmets on sale during the spring game too:
Consider it good marketing to unveil it during an actual event happening on campus, at the very least.
For me they look more like something the Knights of UCF would wear…and have worn in the past. However, I do like the use of the alternate logo for a change of pace. It does give people more to want to look at and if anything, more attention in a positive way on the football program in West Lafayette can’t hurt.
What are your thoughts on the Boilermakers new lids?
