The Purdue Boilermakers are attempting hard to compete with the helmet game of its rivals in Bloomington, Ind. but it appears they are also doing it with altruistic intentions. Earlier this season the Boilermakers stood up to cancer and wore neon yellow stickers on their helmets.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Purdue will honor the military with a special helmet on Military Appreciation Day.

We’ve seen other Big Ten teams and teams from across the country go patriotic at various times, but for me this is one of the best looking versions of those helmets we have seen. Just like these weak ones from Purdue in the past:
Or how about these awful looking things from Iowa:
It’s not just sticking the stars and stripes on the helmet sticker, but also adding depth and a cool look to the P on the helmet. It was also a wise choice to go with the black finish on the helmets to make the graphics really pop. Now, about taking on the Badgers? Yikes.
